Dr. Salah Huwais is the founder of Osseodensification. He maintains a private practice focusing on periodontics and surgical implantology in Jackson, Michigan. Dr. Huwais earned his dental degree from the University of Aleppo, School of Dentistry, in Aleppo, Syria and completed his periodontics and implantology surgical training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota, Dental Implant Program. Dr. Huwais lectures nationally and internationally on periodontal and surgical implantology procedures. He is Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and the American Board of Oral Implantology. Dr. Huwais is the inventor of the Densah® Bur technology.

Dr. Neiva earned his Certificate and Master’s degree in Periodontics from the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and of the International Congress of Oral Implantology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.  Dr. Neiva serves as Chair of the Department of Periodontics of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He is the former Director of the Graduate Program in Periodontics of the University of Florida – College of Dentistry. He is active in clinical research related to bone and soft tissue augmentation, as well as novel techniques in Implant and Periodontal Therapy. Dr. Neiva has published many scientific papers and book chapters in the fields of Periodontics and Oral Implantology. He also lectures frequently both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Howard Gluckman

Dr. Howard Gluckman completed his dental training at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1990. After spending a number of years in a general practice he completed a 4-year full time degree in Oral Medicine and Periodontics at the University of Stellenbosch in Cape Town, which he completed with distinction (cum laude) in 1998. Dr. Gluckman was the author of a monthly Implantology Corner for the South African Dental Journal and is the immediate past president of the South African Society for Dental Implantology and on the board of the Southern African Association of Osseointegration (SAAO). He has lectured extensively nationally and internationally. His special interests are immediate placement/immediate load as well as soft tissue aesthetics and periodontal plastic surgery, autogenous bone augmentation, especially bone harvested from the palate, and three-dimensional bone augmentation.

Course Title: Creating Ideal Soft Tissue Around Implants

Course Description (one-day hands-on course. Course fees: $1750):

Soft tissue is one of the most important aspects of implant therapy. It not only creates a functional barrier against the bacterial challenges and protects the bone from resorption but it is also a critical part of successful aesthetic treatment. Treatment planning should also include soft tissue manipulation from the very first incision so that ideal soft tissue can be achieved in a predictable manner. In dealing with the issue of soft tissue at the start, you will reduce the need for corrective surgery at a later stage and improve your success rate and your patients’ acceptance. This lecture will go through a number of techniques in order to maximize the soft tissue results for both functional and aesthetic cases. We will give hints and tips on all aspects of soft tissue management, which you can then take back to your practice.

 

Dr. Samvel Bleyan
Russia

Dr. Bleyan is a dentist with extensive experience of more than 27 years in oral surgery, prosthetic rehabilitation and esthetic dentistry, having lectured both domestically and internationally. He received his dental honors degree in 1990 at the Yerevan State Medical Institute and in 1992 completed his Residency in prosthodontics at the Yerevan State Medical Institute with honors. In 1995, he received his MBA degree at the American University of Armenia. Dr. Bleyan has been running his private practice including, but not limited to implant dentistry and prosthetic rehabilitation in Moscow since 1997. He is focused on implant dentistry, advanced bone grafting techniques, and soft tissue rehabilitation around implants with the goal of creating a harmonic environment for final restorations.

Course Title: Soft Tissue Management in Implant Dentistry

Course Description (one-day hands-on course. Course fees: $1750):

Dental Implants have quickly become a popular alternative to crowns and bridges by providing a long term-solution for missing or damaged teeth. With a widespread application of implants, it is essential to discuss the role of peri-implant soft tissue in long-term stability and success rate of installed implants. The thickness of soft tissues and the width of KG in particular are key factors for it. The amount of implant/abutment surface soft tissue attachment is a significant contributor for the maintenance of peri-implant health and the overall aesthetics of the final restoration. We will thoroughly discuss different techniques of harvesting FGG and CTG from maxillary tuberosity and palate. We will describe step by step manipulations such as coronal and apical advanced flap  in case of GBR and implant placement. Attention will be paid to all aspect of tension free flap suturing and soft tissue graft stabilization. Some aspects of ideal emergence profile modification with temporary crowns will be presented and discussed.

Prof. Ziv Mazor
Israel

Professor Ziv Mazoris the past President of the Israeli Periodontal Society . Since 1993, Prof. Mazor has been engaged in clinical research in the field of Bone Augmentation and Sinus Floor Elevation. Prof. Mazor is a renowned author in dental implantology, and is known worldwide for his innovative approaches in cutting-edge procedures and technologies. He is a world known speaker  on bone regeneration and has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally. Prof. Mazor is part of the continuing education faculty at the New York University and  an Associate Professor at Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest, Romania. Prof. Mazor maintains a private practice limited to periodontal and implant dentistry in Ra’anana, Israel.

Course Title: Atrophic Ridge Management: Lecture Only

Course Description (one-day lecture. Course fees: $899):

The maxillary and mandibular edentulous region presents a challenging condition for dental implant placement. Alveolar bone resorption and increased pneumatization of the sinus cavity reduce the amount of alveolar bone necessary to maintain a predictable implant-supported prosthesis. This problem can be overcome by  GBR procedures  maintaining the horizontal ridge dimensions or grafting the maxillary sinus floor which provides a sufficient quantity of bone for the placement of endosseal dental implants to support a prosthetic reconstruction.
This lecture will discuss the advantages and utilization of osseodensification for both ridge expansion and sinus augmentation enabling the clinician to do a minimally invasive approach.
“Outside the box” approach digital planning and use of autologous growth factors will be featured as well as follow up of 5 years for these cases.

Chile

The award-winning Professor Pinto belongs to the Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, of the University of the Andes in Santiago, Chile. He is also a visiting professor for the Department of Oral Health Sciences & Periodontology of University Hospitals of Catholic University Leuven Belgium. Founder and Chairman of the Research Center for Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering in Concepción, Chile, he is also a leading expert on clinical applications of L-PRF in soft & hard tissue regeneration and wound healing. He maintains an active private practice and participates frequently in national and international lectures.

 

Course Title: Autologous Biomaterials & Growth Factors

This course is designed for doctors who are interested in enhancing their bone grafting and implant techniques with Leukocyte- and Platelet-Rich Fibrin (L-PRF), autologous biomaterials and growth factors.
Every implant and biomaterial we use to treat our patients challenge human biology. Every step we move forward to reach the perfect combination that will match human biology in a better way improves the results and long term predictability of our implants and grafts procedures. All research show us that the more we move to use autologous and nature based  biomaterials me are getting more successful results.
The synergy of using autologous products and biomimetic implant surfaces has proven to make osseointegration more reliable and predictable, bringing at the same time the possibility of doing minimally invasive approaches with greatest benefits to our patients by shorten the number of procedures, the healing time and reducing the cost significantly.
We are concluding after more than 15 years of research that using the right combination of bio-activators and bio-materials we increase the success rate of osseointegration and tissue regeneration even in the most extreme challenging cases. In this way we are transforming tissue repair into truly tissue regeneration.

Dr. Charles Schwimer

Dr. Charles Schwimer maintains a full-time private practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA limited to periodontics and implants, specializing in biologically based  preservation and he received his BS degree in Psychology and later received his DMD at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1985.  Dr. Schwimer received his speciality certification in Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania and his Branemark implant certification from the TIP training center at Columbia University in 1987. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since 1993 and a Clinical Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Most recently Dr. Schwimer focuses upon the clinical advancement of Partial Extraction Therapies and Osseodensification. Dr Schwimer is the creator and owner of SPoT™ / Site Preservation of Tissue.

Course Title: SPoT/PET Protocols: The Synergy of Partial Extraction Therapy with Osseodensification

Course Description (one-day hands-on course. Course fees: $1750):

Tooth extraction leads to loss of bundle bone and soft tissue. This is a possible limitation for immediate or delayed implant placement. As a result, it is often necessary to perform extensive augmentation procedures to facilitate implant placement. Partial Extraction Therapy preserves bundle bone and soft tissue while Osseodensification may improve primary implant stability through preservation of and autografting of trabecular bone.
This presentation outlines the biological rational and benefits of tissue preservation to optimize oral reconstruction with dental implants. S.P.O.T is a comprehensive treatment methodologies based upon preservation of nature. The objective is to emphasize how the use of innovative diagnostics, surgical techniques, and instrumentation can preserve or enhance treatment outcomes.

Dr. Isaac Tawil

Dr. Isaac Tawilreceived his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from New York University College of Dental Surgery and has a Master’s degree in Biology. Dr. Tawil has received his Diplomate from the International Academy of Dental Implantology as well as his fellowships with the International Congress of Oral Implantology, the Advanced Dental Implant Academy and recognition for Outstanding Achievement in dental implants from the Advanced Dental Implant Academy. He has received the President’s Service Award for his volunteer work in places such Honduras, Tijuana, Dominican Republic, China and Lima Peru. Dr. Tawil is a member of American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association and the New York State Dental Association. Dr. Isaac lectures internationally on advanced dental implant procedures using the latest technology, including in China, Thailand Peru, Korea, Singapore, Japan, The Dominican Republic, and Mexico. Dr. Isaac also teaches live surgical seminars in his office and abroad, as well as hands on courses globally. He maintains a general private practice in Brooklyn, NY where he focuses on implant therapy.

 

Dr. Richard Martin
USA

Dr. Richard Martin is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Lewisville, near Dallas, Texas. He is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry where he was elected Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at Harlem Hospital of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Over the past 8 years, Dr. Martin has utilized a digital workflow, including digital impressions, abutment design, and crown fabrication. He is considered to be one of the “early digital adopters” and has contributed design concepts to several of the major implant companies. Dr. Martin also maintains an extensive lecture schedule where he teaches surgeons, restorative dentists, and allied staff.

As the popularity of osseodensification grows digital planning in osseodensification utilizes the revolutionary C-guide concept. The change of the Versah digital academy is to educate participants in the utilization of osseodensification in guided surgery.

Brazil

Dr. José Carlos Martins da Rosa received his Master of Science in Prosthesis at the Center of Dental Research São Leopoldo Mandic in Brazil in 2005 and specialized in Periodontics at Associaҫão Paulista dos Cirurgiões-Dentistas in Brazil in 1991. Most recently he received his PhD in Implantology at the Center of Dental Research São Leopoldo Mandic in Brazil in 2014. Dr. da Rosa authored the book “Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration” and continues his private practice in Caxias do Sul, Brazil.

The Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration (IDR) is a surgical and prosthetic technique established to broaden indications for immediate loading on individual or several compromised teeth. In this way, tissue losses with varied extensions are reconstructed in the same surgical session of implant placement and provisional crown installation, reducing the number of interventions and making esthetic aspects predictable. The IDR protocol was developed from the need to minimize the treatment time and morbidity of reconstructive procedures used in these instances. It advocates minimally invasive surgery and flapless procedures. In the course, we will discuss the scientific basis, the step-by-step technique, indications and bone biology.

  1. Immediate loading in intact sockets
  2. Immediate loading in non-intact sockets (IDR II)
  3. Considerations about the relationship between the thickness of buccal bone wall and ideal positioning of the implant

Course Title: Partial Extraction Therapy (PET)

Course Description (one-day hands-on course. Course fees: $1750):

The loss of teeth will lead to resorbtion of the buccal plate with its resultant need for extensive augmentative procedures (both bone and soft tissue) as well as the risk of poor long term aesthetic stability. Partial Extraction Therapies (PET) are techniques that allow us to maintain the buccal bone plate and hence prevent the collapse of the alveolar bone creating a platform for ideal soft tissue and bone which is stable in the long term. This is a greater problem in the aesthetic areas. This lecture will take you through the different options with regards to immediate implant placement as well as the most cutting edge PET in a step by step fashion.

Dr. Costa Nicolopoulos
Greece

Dr. Costa Nicolopoulos qualified as a dentist in 1984 receiving his dental degree “cum laude” from Wits University, Johannesburg, South Africa. He received numerous awards including the Gold Medal of the Dental Association of South Africa for the most outstanding graduate. In 1990 he completed his 4 year full time postgraduate Maxillo-Facial & Oral Surgery training at Wits University and was awarded FFD (SA) MFOS from the College of Medicine of South Africa. Since 1991 he is in full time specialist Maxillo-Facial & Oral Surgery private practice concentrating on immediate loading of dental implants. To date he has placed over 30,000 dental implants. He has also presented as a key lecturer at numerous international implant congresses. In 2012, with Dr Petros Yuvanoglu, he established the Same Day Dental Implants Clinic in Dubai where he is also the co-director of the Branemark Osseointergration Center-Dubai.

Dr. Petros Yuvanoglu is co-director of the Branemark Osseointegration Center Dubai. He qualified as a dentist in 1995, receiving his dental degree Summa Cum Laude from Semmelweis University in Budapest, graduating with exceptional high grade, top of his class as valedictorian. In 1998 he completed his 3 year full time post graduate Specialist Prosthodontist training at Tufts University, Boston, U.S.A. and was awarded his Certificate in the Dental Specialty of Prosthodontics. Since 1999 he is in full time private practice as a Specialist Prosthodontist working almost exclusively on the prosthodontic rehabilitation of dental implants. In 2011 together with Dr. Costa Nikolopoulos, he established the “SameDay Dental Implants” Clinic in Dubai, U.A.E. In 2019 he became an Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of Prosthodontics at Tufts University School Of Dental Medicine.

Course Title: Full Arch Rehabilitation with Same Day Restoration

Course Description (two-day hands-on course. Course fees: $3500):

Less Invasive Immediate Full-Arch Rehabilitation with the use of Osseodensification and site-specific implants. Optimized Protocols for Less Invasive, Accelerated Implant Therapy.
This course will provide practical guidelines for a state-of-the-art approach to rehabilitating the full arch. The ability to offer accelerated therapy with less-invasive implant techniques like Osseodensification, facilitates patient recruitment and long-term outcome sustainability. Innovations in dental implant therapy are providing optimal outcomes for full arch rehabilitation with Site Specific Implants. This program will address how innovative implant designs are used in post extraction sockets and with Immediate Loading to maximize bone and maintain soft tissue. It will also address how to maximize the existing bone available including locations such as the nasal, pterygoid and zygoma bone to avoid more invasive grafting techniques in conjunction with Osseodensification.
This workshop will teach an advanced treatment solution that incorporates implant designs that allow for complex anatomical conditions to be properly managed. Unique implant designs like Revers Tapered Angled, Wide, Short and Thin implants, will help maximize available bone, overcome anatomical structures, and extend the A-P spread. Additional innovations for prosthetic management will be introduced that improve simplicity and greater patient acceptance. Both a surgical and prosthetic hands-on exercise will be conducted to allow the participant to rapidly embrace these attractive innovations.

Dr. Costa Nicolopoulos qualified as a dentist in 1984 receiving his dental degree “cum laude” from Wits University, Johannesburg, South Africa. He received numerous awards including the Gold Medal of the Dental Association of South Africa for the most outstanding graduate. In 1990 he completed his 4 year full time postgraduate Maxillo-Facial & Oral Surgery training at Wits University and was awarded FFD (SA) MFOS from the College of Medicine of South Africa. Since 1991 he is in full time specialist Maxillo-Facial & Oral Surgery private practice concentrating on immediate loading of dental implants. To date he has placed over 30,000 dental implants. Greg Boyes-Varley is in full time private Maxillo-Facial and Oral Surgeon at the Morningside Medi-Clinic in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has been in private practice since 1987 and covers the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery discipline to the Morningside Medi-clinic and the advanced applied surgical services to the Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Reconstruction Unit at the Morningside Medi-Clinic. Dr. Boyes-Varley spent 2 years at King’s College School of Medicine and Dentistry in London in the academic department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, where he learned head and neck reconstructive surgery, craniofacial implantology and cleft lip and palate reconstructive surgery. He is currently a Part-time Senior consultant/ Senior Lecturer within the Department of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery and Prosthodontics at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand, and is an examiner for the College of Medicine for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and current committee member of this faculty. At present he sits on the EXCO of the Society of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgeons of South Africa and is the Immediate Past President. Dr. Boyes-Varley has published, both locally and internationally in refereed journals. Dr. Michael Pruett

Michael E. Pruett, DMD, FICD, DICOI, is Assistant Professor of Oral Rehabilitation, and Director of the General Practice Residency Program at the Dental College of Georgia At Augusta University. He received his D.M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, then completed a two year General Practice Residency at the University of Virginia. He then became the Director of Dentistry at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. While in Hartford he also served as the Assistant Program Director of the General Practice Residency at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. He has placed and restored dental implants for the last 24 years. As well he maintains an active practice with emphasis on hospital dentistry, management of medically compromised patients, implant placement and restoration and sedation dentistry. Dr. Pruett is a Fellow in the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and a Diplomate in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is also active in many dental organizations including the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Hinman Dental Society, American Society of Dental Anesthesia, Academy of Osseointegration and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Pruett is the Co-Course Director for the AAID Implant Maxi-Course at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, he also lectures nationally and internationally on implant dentistry. Dr Pruett was also the Dental College of Georgia Distinguished Alumnus for 2013.

 

Dr. Salah Huwais

Dr. Salah Huwais is the founder of Osseodensification. He maintains a private practice focusing on periodontics and surgical implantology in Jackson, Michigan. Dr. Huwais earned his dental degree from the University of Aleppo, School of Dentistry, in Aleppo, Syria and completed his periodontics and implantology surgical training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota, Dental Implant Program. Dr. Huwais lectures nationally and internationally on periodontal and surgical implantology procedures. He is Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and the American Board of Oral Implantology. Dr. Huwais is the inventor of the Densah® Bur technology.

 

Dr. Ann Marie Hofbauer

Dr. Ann Marie (“Marnie”) Hofbauer received her periodontal certificate from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1997.  She is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontolgy.  She practiced as an associate in Chicago for two years and then relocated to Oregon to establish her practice in McMinnville for the past 17 years.  She resides in Portland with her husband and two sons.

 

Dr. Charles Schwimer

Dr. Charles Schwimermaintains a full-time private practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA limited to periodontics and implants, specializing in biologically based  preservation and he received his BS degree in Psychology and later received his DMD at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1985.  Dr. Schwimer received his speciality certification in Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania and his Branemark implant certification from the TIP training center at Columbia University in 1987. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since 1993 and a Clinical Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Dr. João Gaspar

Dr. João Gaspar earned his dental degree from Egas Moniz University in Portugal in 2012. Since then, Dr. Gaspar has been engaged in clinical research in implant dentistry in the same University, where he is a member of the Implantology Department. In 2013, he continued his training in implant dentistry at Columbia University in New York, and attended the Master Course in Prevention and Management of Esthetic Implant Failures at the University of Bern, and the Advanced Bone Grafting Course – Sinus Lift Procedures at Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest. Dr. Gaspar has always been interested in the effects of osteotomy in bone tissue. His Master’s thesis was about the histological alterations of implant site preparation. He is author and co-author of several publications and lectures nationally and internationally on surgical implantology procedures and oral rehabilitation. Dr. Gaspar is currently a PhD student at Egas Moniz University.

 

Dr. Snježana Pohl

Dr. Snjezana Pohl is both doctor of human and dental medicine. She is a specialist in oral surgery and EDA certificated specialist for periodontology and implantology. Currently she is joint owner and head of the Department for Oral Surgeryin a private clinic (Rident).Designated as an assistant professor, she additionally is giving lectures at the Department of Oral Medicine and Periodontology at the School of Dental Medicine of the University of Rijeka. In 2015 she became a DentalXP expert and a lecturer at worldwide dental meetings. As an active lecturer in the fields of implantology and periodontology she underlines the importance of minimally invasive techniques especially in a comprehensive treatment methodologies based upon Preservation of tissues such as Partial extraction therapies, autogenous tissue utilization, Osseodensification and others. Dr. Pohl is an active lecturer in the fields of implantology and periodontology (Germany, Spain, Italy, China, Croatia) and has a numerous publications in medical journals. She is a member of the AAP (American Academy of Periodontology), EDA (European Dental Association), Croatian Periodontal Association, Croatian Dental Chamber, Croatian Medical Association, Bayerische Zahnärztekammer.

Professor Ziv Mazoris the past President of the Israeli Periodontal Society . Since 1993, Prof. Mazor has been engaged in clinical research in the field of Bone Augmentation and Sinus Floor Elevation. Prof. Mazor is a renowned author in dental implantology, and is known worldwide for his innovative approaches in cutting-edge procedures and technologies. He is a world known speaker  on bone regeneration and has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally. Prof. Mazor is part of the continuing education faculty at the New York University and  an Associate Professor at Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest, Romania. Prof. Mazor maintains a private practice limited to periodontal and implant dentistry in Ra’anana, Israel.
